| These paintings are a travelogue of impressions and meditations collected in Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia, and here at home. One exception is The Marshes, which records the transgressions toward the Ma'dan people who, until recently, have inhabited the everglades of Mesopotamia for the last 5,000 years. This area was also one of the richest wildlife refuges on the planet. This painting seeks to call attention to the plight of The Marshes, to our own role in its demise and, hopefully, to its replenishment and the return of its inhabitants. |
